Unite is organized by San Diego graphic design students, for students. This year the topic was a series of short workshops covering essential topics for emerging designers. The goal was to engage with this niche target audience ages 18–26. Vibrant colors were used along with playful illustrations and copywriting.
The images and copy were developed side by side. The work of Christoph Niemann served as an inspiration for the style. Gotham Rounded was selected because its friendly forms complimented the illustrations.
Making the most of the limited funds for this event was essential. Digital tickets were utilized for that reason as well as the target audience’s affinity for mobile devices.
