The San Diego Zoo held a fundraising event to spread awareness about the crisis of animals like lions, gorillas, and rhinoceros soon becoming extinct in the wild. The poster is both a gift for donations and also serves to inform the recipient.
Minion was chosen for its timeless look and high degree of readability. Univers was selected as a compliment for its legibility as well.
A conceptual approach was taken to convey the seriousness of the topic as well as the danger of seeing these beautiful animals disappear before the viewer’s eyes. The unique, pencil-drawn style was created to integrate with the concept and used for the headlines as well.
