Edo is an easy to learn card game themed after Feudal Japan. Tabletop games are currently experiencing a renaissance and seeking ways to stand out among the competition is critical. Edo’s target audience is men, age 30–45 within this niche.

The bold illustrations drew inspiration from Japanese and Chinese cut paper art. They were deliberately kept simple to allow players to quickly recognize them. To pair with the illustrations, Sheldon was selected for its handmade, geometric look. Univers was used for its easy compatibility and neutral character.
